Foreign Language Courses

  • Certificate Courses
  • The candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination or any other equivalent system. Please note that marks of best four (10+2) including English/Hindi will be considered for merit.
  • For General Category : 50% in best four subjects with 45% in English/Hindi (whichever is higher).
  • For SC/ST/OBC/Others : 45% in best four subjects with 45% in English/Hindi (whichever is higher).
  • Graduates in all disciplines will have a positive weightage of 10%
  • Post Graduate will have a positive weightage of 15%
  • Applicants are advised to submit all the information carefully. Information once furnished by the applicant will not be edited.
  • The Merit Lists does not guarantee admission to any foreign language course subject to verification of marks and original documents.
  • Admission will be merit based, subject to the availability of seats.
  • The Applicant must Register ONLY ONCE. Filling more than one form will make the applicant liable to be disqualified for Admission. If Applicant wants to apply for more than one language, he/she is advised to apply before uploading the documents, at the same time.
  • Diploma Courses
  • For Diploma courses (Italian/ Spanish/ German/ French) : In case of existing students of Delhi University Colleges, Certificate in the respective language i.e. Successful completion of Certificate in Italian/ Spanish/ German/ French offered by the Department of Germanic & Romance Studies, Delhi University.
  • In case of Direct Admission of outside Students, Entrance examination will be conducted for students, who have completed Certificate Courses in French, German, Spanish, Italian from the institutions other than University of Delhi / gap year cases. Entrance Exam Fee will be charged for the same, separately.
  • For Diploma courses (CP2, JP2, KP2) : In case of existing students of Delhi University Colleges, Certificate in the respective language i.e. Successful completion of CP-1/ JP-1/ KP1 offered by the Department of East Asian Studies, Delhi University.
  • In case of Direct Admission of outside Students, Entrance examination will be conducted for students who have completed 150hrs of teaching from any institute. Examination will be conducted only for students who qualify 150hrs of teaching. Entrance Exam Fee will be charged for the same, separately.
  • Advance Diploma Courses
  • For Advance Diploma courses (Italian/ Spanish/ German/ French) : Existing students of Delhi University Colleges, Diploma in the respective language i.e. Successful completion of Dimploma in Italian/ Spanish/ German/ French offered by the Department of Germanic & Romance Studies, Delhi University.
  • In case of Direct Admission of outside Students, Entrance examination will be conducted for students who have completed Diploma Courses in French, German, Spanish and Italian from the institutions other than University of Delhi / gap year cases. Entrance Exam Fee will be charged for the same, separately.
  • For Advance Diploma courses (JP3, KP3) : Existing students of Delhi University Colleges, Diploma in the respective language i.e. Successful completion of JP2/KP2 offered by the Department of East Asian Studies, Delhi University. 
  • In case of Direct Admission of outside Students Entrance Examination will be conducted for students who have completed 300 hours of learning from any Institute. Examination will be conducted only for students who qualify 300 hours of learning.

Number Of Seats

There are 50 seats in the College. A minimum of 20 students will be deemed to constitute a section to start a course. The college reserves the right to withdraw a course if sufficient numbers of students have not admitted. The reservation policy of Government of India is applicable in all courses.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION (CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA AND ADVANCED DIPLOMA)/h4>

Normally the examinations of part time courses are held in the month of April. Students who pursue a part time language course as well as other course/s from University of Delhi /any other university simultaneously may note that the college does not take any responsibility for adjustment of dates for the annual examination. Students may also note that they can pursue only one part time language course at one time. A student will be deemed to have passed the examination on securing 50% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in each paper separately. A student securing 75% marks or more in the aggregate will be deemed to have passed with distinction. Attendance & House Examination All the students are required to have at least 55% attendance, failing which they will not be allowed to take the annual examination. House Examination will be held in December. House Examination is compulsory for all the students. Those who fail to appear are liable to pay i.e @1000/- per paper. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to take the annual examination.
