A compulsory course in Environmental Studies was introduced in the University of Delhi in July 2014. However, the Department of Environmental Studies was established in Bharati College in January 2015. One of the major objectives of the Department of Environmental Studies is to promote understanding, knowledge and awareness about environmental problems and challenges. The aim is to create a sustainable environment and viable development along with strategies, which will foster values, skills, attitudes, a sense of participation and responsibilities for protecting the environment for future generations.
